DESTINATIONS
Over many seasons exploring this magnificent continent the Backcountry Africa Team have handpicked and gained access to what we believe to be the best managed hunting areas Africa has to offer, across a wide range of species and styles of hunting.
All of the above countries hold a vastly different array of hunting opportunities, our preference is always to hunt large and free ranging wilderness areas that give a travelling hunter the full experience of being immersed some of Africa´s last remaining great wilderness areas.
ZIMBABWE
Zimbabwe to this day remains one of the most popular safari destinations for both hunting and non hunting travellers. A mix of large private areas as well as government safari areas Zimbabwe holds some of the best Free Range Dangerous Game hunting Africa has to offer.
ZAMBIA
Zambia is without doubt one of Africa´s most exciting safari destinations, an astounding mix of habitat results in an equally impressive mix of species, hunting styles and options! A good mix of dangerous game hunting as well as some unique plains game makes it an ideal destination for hunters travelling with family and friends.
UGANDA
Uganda´s nickname the Pearl of Africa is for good reason, this tropical country is a wildlife paradise thanks to its productive habitat which are in impressive numbers, This is an ideal place to target some of the species endemic to East Africa. The Hunting here is largely focused on Buffalo and Plains Game as well as the elusive Sitatunga.
BOTSWANA
Reopened to hunting in 2019 Botswana after a lengthy ban, this sparsely populated country holds some of Africa´s best overall wildlife densities and is a fantastic country for hunters to visit with family and friends. There is no better country to target trophy elephant bull than Botswana. There is also some fantastic plains game hunting for the Kalahari Species in certain parts of the country.
MOZAMBIQUE
An often misunderstood country, Mozambique holds some of the biggest and wildest areas on the continent, the hunting areas here are remote and difficult to access but provide hunters with a true wilderness experience. The famous Niassa is a large focus of our hunting here and is a tremendous region to hunt Buffalo, Leopard as well as some exciting plains game. Mozambique and the Niassa is a must for any adventure hunter!
CAMEROON
West Africa is not for the faint hearted, just getting to the hunting area is an adventure in itself. However arriving in the hunting area in Cameroon is all worth it as it is once more a true wilderness that is well protected thanks to hunters dollars, this is hard yet rewarding hunting largely focused on the regal Lord Derby Eland!
